I’ve fractured my wrist.
See that tiny puddle? At 8.20 this morning that was a lovely smooth sheet of ice. I skidded and landed with my palm flat down. I swore, flexed my fingers to make sure everything was OK, then carried on to school.
By the time we’d gone a few hundred metres down the road, I was dizzy and knew I had to choose between sitting down or fainting. In the snow. I watched Miss 9 across the busy road, and told her to walk the rest of the way by herself. I turned homeward with Mr 5, planning on getting Mr PC to drop him off at school. Luckily on the way back we met another parent who offered to take Mr 5 in for me. Eternal gratitude!
Mr PC took me along to the minor injuries unit. They x-rayed and put on a temporary cast, and I have an appointment at Worcester tomorrow to get a proper cast on. Then six weeks of trying to be left handed.
At least I finished my tapestry yesterday!
Poor you! Of course it would be the right hand, too. Hope it heals well and quickly. The only upside, I suppose, is that you only need one hand to be able to catch up on your reading…
My thoughts exactly!
It’s actually quite easy to be left-handed I find!
What a flaming nuisance. I do hope you heal quickly.
Thanks! It would be very convenient to be left handed just now.
