I’ve been out on the allotment. It has been so nice to get out over the past couple of days and do some digging in the fresh air. I haven’t done any work there since October, and yesterday Mr 4 told me my allotment was ‘feeling sad’. I guess it must have been the neglect!

My potatoes have been chitting so they needed to go in the ground. I dropped Mr 4 off at pre-school yesterday, then went straight along and started clearing. It took me about two hours to clear the plot which had held cucumbers and lettuces last year. Now it’s got half my pink fir apple potatoes in there.

Today I did the same, and got all my King Edwards into the plot which held kidney beans last year.

I have so much enjoyed being out and achieving something worthwhile. We didn’t get the hottest day of the year that other people had yesterday, but we had enough sunshine to keep me happy! Spring is here, for sure.

I wish we could be out in the allotment, but our contract only allows for us to start in the middle of May. It would be so great to get a head start on things, and get it all tilled up, and maybe even plant some garlic!

We’ve had such un-seasonal weather this last week, it’s been great to get out there! We don’t get such hot summers here, so things need to be in as soon as the weather is good enough.
(I got my garlic and onions in in Autumn, so I really feel like I’ve got a headstart)
