I have compiled my list of unfinished craft items. It is quite a daunting list! Fourteen items in all (until I think of other things I’ve got stashed somewhere), and do I count things I’ve bought everything for, but haven’t actually started yet? In two cases, yes, because I must do them this year, before children grow too much!
One medieval tapestry
Three tapestry cushion covers
A pair of socks
A patchwork bedspread
A crochet hook holder
A green dress
An elf (crochet)
24 penguins (crochet)
Some of them will be quite quick – four of them should take less than a day each, but others I am dreading. I have a cream jumper, which is in its third incarnation. I started knitting it in wool which felt like it was straight off the sheep’s back, and was incredibly hard to knit with, so I binned it and started it in a yarn with a silver sheen. I decided I didn’t like that and would never wear it, so frogged that and am now half way up the back in a plain cream. I have to finish the back to free up the needles to start on the other jumper – the one for Miss 11.
The patchwork bedspread might be quick. I could machine stitch it. But every other stitch has been hand sewn, and I think I might feel a bit bad doing the last bit by machine, when I could do the whole thing entirely by hand. I haven’t decided yet.
The medieval tapestry is what I have started with. If I concentrate on it, I should be able to finish it within the month, then I can reward myself with a quick task next.
